Local DJ Jim Henderson who is known as DJ Edinburgh will host his first ‘Live Aid’ event tomorrow night to raise funds for charity.

Jim who has been hosting online parties and quizzes during the Covid-19 lockdown has high hopes of being able to hold an outdoor event this year too.

On Friday night he will play host to an Edinburgh star-studded event at Melville Castle from 6.30-8pm and he will then repeat the same again on Saturday at Houston House Hotel in Uphall.

Both shows will be broadcast on his Facebook page and will feature music from the iconic 1984 concert.

Jim said “I am really looking forward to hosting these events and raising as much money as we can.

“I must thank all the singers and performers who have agreed to come along and play for the online audience.

“Both nights will be great and I really hope my followers enjoy them.”

Jim has submitted an application to the council to hold an outside event on the grass behind Drylaw Church and he hopes to have an update on that in the coming weeks.
