The newest exhibition at Dovecot Studios is Our Linen Stories and it is accompanied during its run by some evening events. The idea is to highlight the sustainability of linen and explore the circular economy which could encompass it.

The designs on display are much more than a linen shirt or two. There are cutting edge skis and bio-composite furniture included in the mix.

A launch event was held at Dovecot this morning.

Our Linen Stories is curated by Dr John Ennis and follows two years of research into the subject. Scotland sits squarely in the middle of the linen story and there are tales from our European neighbours including Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Dr Ennis was formerly a GP in Wester Hailes and tells us he is planning an exhibition of a material of a different kind there next summer.
