We sauntered along Burntisland High Street seeking refuge from the ear-bashing music in the annual summer holiday fairground.

Don’t get me wrong, the amusements certainly it the spot with our grand-child but the noise does get annoying after a while.

Our objective was to chill with a thirst-quenching tea or coffee in an oasis of calm and we found it here.

The engaging staff served great coffee and buns but there is so much more to this establishment apart from coffee.

They do breakfast rolls – white, brown and gluten free – traditional breakfasts – yes, Lorne sausage is an option – and also a cooked veggie alternative plus porridge with different toppings.

Soup of the day and house soup (lentil) are backed up standard ham, cheese, tuna sandwiches of special including chicken, chorizo and avocado or veggie hummus, harissa and pepper or how about with flatbread options plus curry and chicken katsu or chicken, mango and chilli.

They even do a dirty mac with mac n cheese added crispy bacon, jalapenos, black pudding or an award-winning sausage.

I’m feeling hungry writing this and, I almost forgot, they have a special kids menu. Oh, and don’t forget the sumptuous cakes. They also do cakes for people with allergies.

Take a bow. We’ll be back.
