Craig Oglivie, chairman of the Beas Rock Sea Angling League, has confirmed that the next round of the Summer Series is a Dunbar Rover on Wednesday, August 31.

Registration is at 6.30pm at Dunbar Harbour and local angler Chris Empson won the seventh match out of ten fixtures at St Abbs.

Chris claimed a mixed bag of 11 fish include cod, coley and wrasse for 13lb 7oz. Wrasse, incidentally, can be found at depths from 1m to 50m amongst rocks, seaweed and reefs.

Michael Thompson was second with two fish, including landing the heaviest fish, a fine 3lb 4oz cod.

Barry McEwan from Port Seton landed two fish to come third with Edinburgh-based David Cooper fourth. James Ogilvie from Haddington was fifth with Steve Nairn from Duns sixth.

Members will be hoping to land a specimen like George Gilmore who hooked this 10lb-plus fish on an Aquamarine Charter out of Eyemouth this week.
