HOUSEHUNTERS looking to indulge in semi-rural living are being encouraged to make the move to one of the country’s fastest growing regions.

Attracting both families and commuters, sales have grown at CALA Homes (East) developments in Midlothian – with 71 homes being snapped up around the county in the last 12 months.

Although the final house was sold at the developer’s Eagle’s Green development – which sits on the former site of Broomieknowe Golf Course in Bonnyrigg CALA still has a selection of properties available in popular areas of the region.

If you are looking to live a little closer to the city can still snap up a property at popular Mayburn Park.

This development is in a good position overlooking Straiton Retail Park with its variety of coffee stops, high street shops and restaurants, and the four-bedroom homes are part of CALA’s award-winning Signature Collection.

With just five properties remaining, over 95% of the development has been sold. Prices range from
£370,000 to £485,000.

With a more rural outlook, Chapel Lawns has also been a hit with families and commuters alike, with more than half of its 79 homes already sold.

Set in the historic village of Roslin and close to a selection of attractions such as Rosslyn Chapel, Chapel Lawns has been designed for growing families by making clever use of space.

Prices here start at £329,000, and the three, four and five-bed homes feature flexible, spacious interiors, finished with the high specification synonymous with CALA and benefit from excellent transport links, with the City of Edinburgh Bypass just a seven-minute drive away.

Nestled at the foot of the Pentland Hills, Belwood Oaks in Penicuik is the latest development from CALA Homes (East) to open its doors in Midlothian.

Properties from Belwood Oaks’ first release start at £349,000 and include a range of four and five-bedroom family homes from the quality developer’s exclusive Light and Space Collection – meaning homes have been designed to be bathed in natural light thanks to features such as elegant
bi-fold doors.

Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director with CALA Homes (East), said: “Midlothian has so much to offer both families and professionals alike, it is no wonder that homes in the region are in high demand right now.

“On one hand you have the serene location packed full of outdoor pursuits, from walking in the Pentlands to discovering Dalkeith Country Park. On the other, Edinburgh is just a short car, bus or train journey away. It really is a beautiful part of the world and offers plenty of space for growing families.

“We would urge those who are looking to make a move in time for summer to not hesitate
as properties are selling fast.”
