Lord Provost of Edinburgh and Patron of Edinburgh Diwali, Frank Ross, was present yesterday at the unveiling the story of Ramayana, told through a series of traditional Indian puppetry tableaux projected on screens in West Princes Street Gardens.

The exhibition is open to the public from dusk (last entry 5:15pm) to 6:00pm until Sunday.

The Edinburgh Diwali celebrations take place on Saturday 3rd November with a parade from City Chambers to Castle Street starting at 2:00pm and this is followed by performances at the Ross Bandstand at 4:15pm.

The event culminates with a firework display at 7:00pm
