Goalkeeper Ofir Marciano was delighted to be named in the first team squad for Hibs weekend’s 6-0 victory over Hamilton Academical at Easter Road Stadium.
The Israeli international has achieved one of the targets he set for himself after undergoing surgery on his finger injury and will not relax now that he has been involved with the first team once again.
Marciano told Hibernian Media: “It was great to be back involved. When you set yourself a target and you get it, it is a very good feeling and I am happy.
“I started a journey with my injury and I am happy that I have made one of my targets.
“I won’t rest now. I need to move forward and chase all of my other targets.
“It is a great challenge for me. In your career you haver to face challenges and I take this situation as a gift.
“Again, I am just back to shape now. My first step was being back in the squad after my operation. I am happy to now be involved.
“My second step is getting back to the place that I have been – the first choice goalkeeper. It won’t be easy, but it’s up to me.
“I need to prove again to the gaffer and the staff that I am ready and I’m there and for them to trust me. I will work hard for that.”
