Andrew Dallas will referee the first Edinburgh derby of the season at Tynecastle next Wednesday.

The 35-year-old son of former referee Hugh Dallas was in charge of last season’s 1-0 victory for Hibs over Hearts at Easter Road, his only derby to date.

David McGeachie and Frank Connor will be the assistant referees whilst Steven McLean will take the fourth official role.

Dallas took charge of Rangers 4-1 victory over Hamilton Accies at the Hope CBD Stadium, where he controversially awarded the away side two late penalties for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Hearts face Dundee tonight then Celtic at Murrayfield in the semi-final of the Betfred League Cup on Sunday whilst Neil Lennon will have the luxury of a 10-day break to allow his injured players to recover.
