Hibs have signed Dutch international left back, Miquel Nelom on an initial one-year deal.
Miquel made his professional debut at Excelsior as a 19-year-old as the club gained promotion to the Eredivisie. He established himself in the Excelsior team in their maiden season in the top league before returning to Feyenoord.
He became a regular member of the Feyenoord squad, winning the KNVB Cup in 2015-16 and the Eredivisie in 2016-17, before joining Sparta Rotterdam on loan last season. He gained two international caps for the Netherlands during his spell at Feyenoord on the country’s tour of Asia in 2013, appearing against Indonesia and China.
He will wear the number 18 jersey for the side.
Miquel said: “It feels great. I am happy to be here and to have the opportunity to start at Hibernian.
“My first impression of the manager is that he is very enthusiastic. I also saw him as a player at Celtic and I know a bit about him as a manager. I’m sure he will be a good manager for me.
“I have been here a couple of days now and it’s been great. I have heard a few stories about Edinburgh, now that I am here I can see the city centre and the countryside. It looks good.
“The club is even bigger than I thought. The facilities and the stadium are all nice. I can’t wait to play on the pitch and show what I’ve got.”
