Well-known local instructor Steve Culbert has confirmed he will be at Loganlea Trout Fishery on three dates before the end of October to help anglers sort out any casting problems.
The dates are Sunday, September 2, Sunday, September 30 and Sunday, October 7.
Steve will be there on all these dates from 10am to 2pm.
The Peebles-based expert said: “These days are open to anyone fishing on the day and can’t be booked.”
For the record, Loganlea is in the Pentland Hills above Flotterstone.
Meanwhile, over the hills at Morton Fishings near Livingston, local man Tam Deverick (pictured above) is continuing his purple patch.
He landed a superb 14lb-plus rainbow on a surface-presented muddler, his personal best and on a 6lb tippet.
Then, a few days later, he followed up with three hard-fighting fish during a two-hour session. All were caught on a bibio.
On the river now, and Cramond Angling Club members have recently taken part in a clean-up on a section of their eight-mile stretch of The Almond.
