FRANCE IS OUR TOP TIP FOR WORLD CUP SAYS MANNA HOUSE BAKERY!

  • They say our French patisserie would delight the French Football team post World Cup match for a celebration feed!

It may be in Edinburgh’s Easter Road but the Manna House Bakery certainly has more than a hint of Gallic flair about it as the country gets ready to watch the World Cup final with France and Croatia poised to battle it out in Moscow.

Having last week held an England v Sweden clash with its very own Scandinavian/Anglo battle of the cakes, by showcasing Swedish Bundt cakes and the very traditional, very English, bread and butter pudding slices, Manna House is this weekend singing the praises of its traditional French patisserie, of which it has a huge and very delicious choice!

Known for its very wide ranging selection of cakes, breads and pastries from all corners of the globe, including Italian Orange Polenta cake, Portuguese Custard tarts, Red Velvet cake, Brownies and Carrot Cake from the USA, lemon drizzle and Victoria Sponge from the UK, and Bundt cakes from Sweden, Manna excels at producing daily mounds of croissants, Pain au Chocolat, Opera cakes, tartes aux fruits, and macarons!

“French style patisserie done well is the main stay of any artisan bakery worth its salt, or indeed flour,” said third generation Baker and owner Drew Massie, “We provide a little bit of Paris here in Edinburgh and South Queensferry. We also have our own blend of coffee. The World Cup has been a fun distraction, and of course, both our locations are always full of tourists – we get two cruise ships a week now in South Queensferry. I don’t know who will win the World Cup but for me France comes out on top for providing so much inspiration in the world of classic baking and pastry!”
