Teenager Nicola Robertson has received a grant from Currie Community Council to travel to Lourdes to help people with disabilities or a terminal illness to travel.

The 18-year-old has recently left Currie Community High and makes the trip in July with Our Lady’s Church.

To do that she had to raise £800 for flights and accommodation.

Nicola said: “Lourdes has become a huge part of my year and I couldn’t imagine not attending.

“It is just as rewarding for me as it is for those in my care. I am having many fundraisers in order to reach my target including holding a ceilidh, a car boot sale and holding coffee mornings.

“However, it becomes harder and harder to reach my target each year.”
