Hibernian Ladies face Celtic in this season’s SWPL Cup Final at the Falkirk Stadium this afternoon, looking to win the trophy for the third season in a row.

Celtic will be looking to break the domination enjoyed by Hibernian and Glasgow City in recent years with their first trophy since 2010.

Hibernian Head Coach Grant Scott told the club website: “I expect another tough game. The league match was closer than we would have liked when we played them at K-Park. As a group we were a wee bit critical of ourselves that day, thinking we should have done better but to come away with the victory was important.

“It’ll be tough, there’s no doubt about that. A couple of the signings they’ve made have added pace and power to their attacking line. There’s dangers when you play Celtic now which I didn’t think were there in the past.

“We’re looking forward to the occasion, we’re defending the trophy – there’s a lot of pride for us in retaining the trophy if we can.”

Semi final penalty save hero, Hannah Reid, also gave her thoughts: “I think everyone’s excited now that the Stirling, Glasgow City and Hamilton games are out of the way. We’re just fully focussed on the final now.

“We don’t feel any pressure, both teams are going in it to win and everyone is buzzing.”
