Ricky Wells powered to a 15-point maximum as Edinburgh Monarchs mugged Berwick Bandits.

Josh Pickering chipped in with 11 points and Mark Riss ten points in the 51-39 victory.

Bandits best was captain Kevin Doolan with 13 points and former Monarchs and Glasgow Tigers racer Aaron Summers was next best with nine.

The visitors were not helped when another former Monarchs racer Jye Ethridge was withdrawn from the meeting after a heavy fall in Heat Two.

Bandits, who traditionally don’t track well at Armadale, put up a fight and were only four points adrift after Heat Nine.

And they closed the gap to 34-32 with a 5-1 in Heat 11 but the home side replied with a 5-1 of their own in the next race and backed that up with another in Heat 14 to pull clear.
