Asda Chesser is home to two sets of mothers and sons who work there. So while Mother’s Day might be the day to take your mum breakfast in bed these four enjoy working together all week.
Alexander and Gill Paget have worked alongside each other at Asda Chesser for the past four years. Known as Zander to his other colleagues (but Alexander to his Mum!) he regularly helps his mum out with charity fundraising for the store and has dressed up in a variety of different costumes over the years to support her.
The other mother and son duo Lucas Cunningham and Claudia Hyde have enjoyed two years working together. Lucas works in the warehouse and Claudia works in the Post Office.
Gill said: “Having Alexander working beside me at Asda Chesser has been amazing. We often travel to work together which means we get to spend lots of quality time together. We’ve become so close over the last four years and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with my son.”
Zander said: “It’s great to see mum at work and to watch her helping customers. It feels normal to work in the same place as the store is like a big family.”
“She’s always organising fundraising activities for local community groups so I’ve been roped in to don some interesting costumes over the years, but it’s all for a good cause so I don’t mind.”
James Carchrie, Store Manager at Asda Chesser, said, “It’s lovely to see such great family relationships blossom into friendships here at Asda Chesser. They inspire everyone here to work hard as a team. We are thrilled they are being recognised for the great jobs they have done over the years!”
“It’s a great environment to work in with so many close family relationships. We have a great hardworking team.”
