Action from Murrayfield from Ian Coyle

Elite League: Edinburgh Capitals 0, Fife Flyers 3; Dundee Stars 3, Braehead Clan 4

The nightmare continues for Edinburgh Capitals who have slipped to their 37 defeat.

Fife Flyers, in contrast, snapped a disappointing two-game losing run with a 3-0 victory at Murrayfield.

Liam Heelis netted a double with Shayne Stockton scoring the other goal leaving Capitals with only four wins in 41 league fixtures.

The sides blanked the first session and it took until the 32nd minute for Shayne Stockton to break the deadlock after being set-up by Charlie Mosey.

Five minutes later it was Stockton who assisted Heelis with the second and Heelis scored his second unassisted after 49 minutes of a penalty-filled game in which the home side were outshot 44-27.

Braehead Clan completed a weekend win double over Elite League play-off rivals Dundee Stars and boosted their play-off hopes.

They won 3-1 in Glasgow on Saturday and 4-3 on Tayside despite going behind.

Brian Hart opened Dundee’s account after 80 seconds of the second session but Clan then fired four goals without reply.

Adam Brace netted on the power play after 33 minutes and former Fife Flyers star Brendan Brooks put the visitors ahead just over a minute later.

Matt Haywood claimed the third after 45 minutes and Brooks scored his second two minutes later.

Former Braehead star Cody Carlson netted Stars’ second in 48 minutes and Hart’s second after 53 minutes set up a grandstand finish for the 1,450 fans.
