Charles Bowman, Lord Mayor of London, visited Computershare’s Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Edinburgh as part of a visit to the Scottish capital.

He discussed business links between the two cities and the contribution that an international business like Computershare makes to the local and UK economies.

The Lord Mayor said: “A visit to Edinburgh was an immediate priority given the city’s tremendous importance to UK financial services and the economy as a whole.

“It’s vitally important that we change perceptions of financial services to develop a greater appreciation for a nationwide industry that provides half of the NHS’ annual budget.”

Colin Clark, client relationship director at Computershare, said: “We’re enjoying working with the Scottish Government, Scottish Development International and Scottish Enterprise as we realise our plans of a cutting edge technological hub in Edinburgh.”
