Elite League: Fife Flyers 6, Edinburgh Capitals 1; Milton Keynes Lightning 3, Dundee Stars 4; Braehead Clan 2, Manchester Storm 5

Evan Bloodoff claimed a double as high-flying Fife Flyers increased the agony on bottom club Edinburgh Capitals.

The Kirkcaldy combine earned their eighth straight Elite League victory while Capitals skidded to their 15th defeat in a row after the 6-1 reverse at The Fife Ice Arena.

Fife’s other scorers were Chase Schaber, Ian Young, Peter LeBlanc and Liam Heelis. Pavel Vorobyev netted for Capitals to make the score 4-1.

Dundee Stars claimed their fourth victory in a row thanks to a narrow 4-3 victory at fellow-strugglers Milton Keynes Lightning.

Three unanswered goals between the 14th and 51st minute secured the points and earned revenge for a 5-1 defeat on Dundee’s last visit to Buckinghamshire.

Milton Keynes were 3-1 ahead thanks to two goals from Kevin King and a single from Christian Isackson.

A double from Malcolm Gould plus singles from newcomer Lukas Lundvald Nielsen and Gabriel Levesque, the Elite League’s Player of the Week, secured the vital road win.

Ryan Finnerty returned to Braehead Clan last night (SAT) for the first time in the Elite League and had the last laugh.

The club’s former coach guided his new club Manchester Storm to a 5-2 victory. It was Clan’s forth defeat in a row.

The sides were locked at 2-2 at the end of the second period but Dallas Ehrhardt, Dane Byers and Luke Moffatt netted to take the points south.
