The Scottish SPCA is overwhelmed by the generosity of Co-op members from Edinburgh who have donated a generous £1,035.18 to help rescue more abused, abandoned and injured animals in the capital in 2018.
Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre Manager Diane Aitchison said, “We were absolutely blown away by the support we received from Co-op shoppers.
“We really appreciate every single person who chose the Scottish SPCA as their charity. We receive no government or lottery funding so rely entirely on the generosity of the public and donations like these really do save lives.”
Diane continued, “It may not seem like much, but by choosing to support the Scottish SPCA through the Co-op’s membership scheme, local shoppers have made a real difference to their local animal rescue and rehoming centre here in Edinburgh.
“Animals like Trigger are still waiting to find their forever home, and these funds mean we can continue caring for them while they patiently await the arrival of their new family!”
