Some prices for the most popular tickets have been frozen by Edinburgh Trams.

From 25 February 2018 there will be a new pricing structure on Edinburgh Trams.

Single fares will go up by 10p to £1.70 and an adult single airport fare will rise to £6 when bought from a tram stop ticket machine or using the app.

But pre-purchase Airport return tickets bought in advance via the edinburghticket.com website are frozen at £8.50.

The price of City Zone day return tickets are also frozen at £3.20 and Airport open return tickets, where the return trip can be used at any time, are the same price at £8.50.

Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, commented: “This is the first review of fares in two years and changes are required due to increases in our operating costs. This will also allow us to continue investment in service improvements such as increased frequencies and contactless payment systems.

“We’re delighted to be able to freeze the price of return and child fares, as well as our popular day tickets that have been held at £4 and £9, demonstrating the fact that the tram continues to offer fantastic value for money.”

From the end of February there will also be changes to Ridacard products that are accepted for travel on the tram.
