Bield’s Craighall Road Care Home in Edinburgh has a gem in Caroline Freer who works as a Night Care Assistant. The housing and care company recognised her dedication at their recent AGM.
Caroline was part of the group of colleagues that celebrated a combined total of 175 years of service with the charity.
As a thanks for her longstanding dedication to Bield, Caroline was presented with a certificate and flowers in front of fellow colleagues, tenants and Board Members at the meeting.
She said: “I was quite touched to be recognised with this Long Service Award, it’s always nice to be valued.
“I have always enjoyed working with older people, so when I started at Bield it was great to be working for an organisation that provides precious one to one care with older people.
“I hope in the years to come I can continue my work as a Night Care Assistant as it’s providing high quality support to service users that makes my job so worthwhile.”
This year’s long service awards recognised the dedicated members of staff who have spent 15 or more years caring for and helping all of Bield’s tenants and service users across Scotland.
Susan Napier, Chair of Bield, said: “Without the consistent and committed hard work of our staff at Bield, all we have managed to achieve as a leading housing and care provider over the past 46 years would not have been possible.
“It gives me great joy to be able to present these Long Service Awards to so many staff members who often to go above and beyond the call of duty to enrich the lives of the many hundreds of older people that they work with.
“Recognising their dedication to providing constant care at this year’s AGM is so important to us at Bield. Without our team of incredibly loyal staff, we would struggle to provide the consistent level of service that we do.”
Every Bield employee is dedicated to providing high quality service which will enhance and enrich the lives of older people in Scotland in line with Bield’s ‘Free to Be’ philosophy which lets people make their own choices about how they live their lives while being there to support them when they need it.
