Lisa Milligan from Portobello had a five minute dash around ALDI and brought back £638.99 worth of produce.
She then collected the same amount in vouchers for Portobello Basics Foodbank run by Edinburgh City Mission thanks to ALDI’s Supermarket Sweep.
The lucky shopper also took home the trolley of goodies she had grabbed on her way round the store.
Winner Lisa Milligan said: “This was an amazing experience and I had so much fun running round all the aisles! I love shopping in ALDI so this was a huge bonus for me and my family. I’m so glad that everything I grabbed will also help go towards food for people who need it in the local community. This was a great idea from ALDI and I’m really happy to have won.”
Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director at ALDI in Scotland, said: “We created the ALDI Supermarket Sweep as a fun way for our shoppers to help support their local community. We’re very happy for Lisa and the team at Portobello Basics Foodbank who will benefit from £638.99 worth of ALDI vouchers to help local people in need.”
Duncan Cuthill CEO of Edinburgh City Mission which runs Portobello Basics Foodbank said: “We could not be more delighted to receive news of this donation thanks to the generosity of Lisa and ALDI Scotland. The ALDI vouchers will be put to very good use helping us care for some of the most needy in our city.”
