Artist Audrey Grant will be giving a talk at the Open Eye Gallery on Abercromby Place on Saturday 20 May 2017 at 12 noon.

Her latest exhibition there features many ballerinas, as she had privileged access to Scottish Ballet’s rehearsals. On display along with her many paintings are her sketch books where she drew the movement in pencil before committing it to something more permanent.

While she watched the dancers were rehearsing for ballets such as Mekler/Lopez Ochoa’s A Streetcar Named Desire, Christopher Hampson’s The Rite of Spring and Cinderella, Glen Tetley’s Pierrot Lunaire, to Angelin Preljocaj’s MC14/22 (Ceci est mon corps) in 2016.

There will be an opportunity to hear more about Grant’s work during the informal talk.
