Josh Pickering has flown half way round the world from New South Wales in Australia to make his British debut but joining Edinburgh Monarchs.
But the Edinburgh club are confident they have picked the right man as he was recommended by former Monarchs ace Max Fricke.
Josh started racing dirt bikes and raced them for around eight years then he moved over to road racing.
After he lost his slot with Honda Australia he bought two bikes from Adam Shields as he wanted to make a career out of some type of motorcycle racing.
He said: “I just enjoy riding bikes. I have ridden speedway from 2013 and haven’t looked back and I believe with Edinburgh I can get to the next level.”
His girlfriend Brooke is with him and the ambitious racer added: “It will be good to have someone with me in the good times and bad.”
