Hibs received a double boost for their hopes of automatic promotion yesterday.

Head Coach Neil Lennon was sent off by referee Don Robertson near the end of last Friday’s victory over Dundee United at Tannadice and the case was reviewed by compliance officer Tony McGlennan.

In response an SFA spokesman said: “The compliance officer has reviewed it and Neil Lennon will face no further action. It was felt that being sent to the stand was sufficient.”

In addition, title rivals Dundee United lost 3-2 last night to bottom of the table St Mirren leaving them 10 points behind Hibs having now played the same number of games.

With only nine games remaining, Hibs are six points clear of Falkirk who have played one game more and nine clear of Morton who have one game in hand.

The pair meet at the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday whilst Hibs face Dumbarton at Easter Road.
