At The Centre in Livingston last week Chewbacca and Ob-Wan Kenobi popped in to raise over £2,000 for children’s charity CHAS.

Generous shoppers in the mall donated to the Star Wars characters who are en route to their sci-fi event at Meadowbank Stadium this month. Capital Sci-Fi Con on 18 and 19 February is a pop culture comic and movie convention which donates all proceeds to CHAS.

They had already been to the centre in December, but came back due to popular demand.

Jennifer Bruce, Marketing Manager at The Centre Livingston, said: “We’ve never seen anything quite like it before when we get the Star Wars team in – the mall is electric with a great atmosphere as people of all ages get the chance to meet their favourite Star Wars character and raise money for such a wonderful charity, CHAS, at the same time.

“It definitely won’t be the last time they drop by! Dates and timings will be posted on our Shop the Centre Facebook page to keep customers updated.”
