Elite League: Edinburgh Capitals 3, Dundee Stars 2
MASON Wilgosh claimed the game-winner as Edinburgh Capitals snapped a seven-game losing streak.
The Murrayfield men recorded a hard-earned 3-2 victory over basement rivals Dundee Stars thanks to the Canadian’s power play goal after 24 minutes.
It was Capitals second power play goal as Matt Tipoff had also netted with Dundee having a man in the sin bin with one second left of the opening session.
Ian Schultz had fired Edinburgh ahead after 65 seconds with a rocket shot from the blue line which Stars’ netminder Joe Fallon had no chance with.
Stars bounced back and Matt White opened their account 45 seconds after Edinburgh’s second goal and Kevin Bruijsten scored their consolation second after 34 minutes.
The pair square up at Dundee on Sunday night (face-off 6.30pm) and Capitals’ defenceman Michal Dobron will be back after a one-game ban.
There is, however, a doubt about Schultz who injured a wrist in the first period and was last night in hospital for treatment.
