Hibs’ midfielder Dylan McGeouch has his sights firmly set on today’s game Dumbarton and getting a positive result at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
The Easter Road side are currently four points clear of second placed Dundee United in the race for automatic promotion after last Friday’s emphatic 3-0 victory.
United face Queen of the South at Tannadice but McGeouch insists that he and his team mates will be concentrating on their own form rather than looking northwards.
He also praised the contribution of the supporters who have once again sold out their ticket allocation.
McGeouch told Hibernian TV: “ I am looking forward to the game against Dumbarton. It’s been a good week with a good result at home against Dundee United and we are ready to go this weekend and hopefully get a good result.
“The boys are buzzing after the United game and everyone did their job. I thought we did well in an attacking sense and Jason (Cummings) popped up with two goals which was great.
“We don’t want to undo the good work that we’ve done by dropping points away to Dumbarton this weekend. We need to build on that result.
“The next game is the most important one, so we’ll be looking at getting three points and moving onto the week after.
“I’ve had a couple of games on the trot now and hopefully I can keep myself in the team and that’s what I want to do.
“There is strong competition in the squad and that’s healthy for the club with everyone fighting for the spot but I hope to keep the jersey.
“The fans have been great. Everywhere we go we can hear them in great numbers so credit to them. It’s great to see the fans and hopefully we can put on a good performance for them.”
