“Golden buzzer” performer and Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Beau Dermott, will perform with Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra at their concert in Edinburgh this Thursday, 2 June 2016.
Since 2012 the Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra has established itself as one of the leading youth orchestras in Glasgow, performing at many prestigious events and 2016 is no different. They return to Glasgow and Edinburgh with a programme that will bring audiences to their feet.
The classical dance like programme will have Edinburgh audiences dancing their way out of Greyfriars Kirk as the orchestra delves into the works of Strauss, Bruch and Tchaikovsky. The Orchestra will perform light-hearted music and is determined to wow the nation’s capital with a rather extraordinary concert.
As well as this they will be joined by golden buzzer contestant Beau Dermott who wowed audiences and judges, especially Amanda Holden who pressed the golden buzzer, at the young age of 12. She will join the orchestra and their soloist Dannii Meagher for 2 songs straight from the Britain’s Got Talent stage!
A recent sell out concert saw the orchestra collaborating with West End stars, performing West End and Broadway Hits. They have also performed Popular Music and Classical repertoire which has proved to be a huge success, however, conductor and founder Ross Gunning wishes to produce their best Summer concert to date.
Conductor and Founder of Glasgow Philharmonia and 2015 Arts Young Scot of the Year, Ross Gunning says:

To perform in front of a live audience is the most wonderful experience our players could wish for and the audience will see and hear some of the most talented young performers in Scotland “
The orchestra will be joined by virtuoso violinist Dannii Meagher who has been the orchestra’s leader for the past 2 years.
Violin soloist, Dannii Meagher said: “I’m thrilled to be performing the Bruch with the orchestra this summer. It’s such a special concerto for me, and there are some wonderful moments for the orchestra.
“I’ve been with GPO for 18 months and love the energetic audience we get for the summer concerts. This year’s repertoire is so accessible for everyone and I hope this will attract some new-comers to join us for the evening.”
The Glasgow Philharmonia Summer Concert 2016 in Edinburgh will take place on Thursday 2nd June at Greyfriars Kirk.
