The Leith School of Art Easter Exhibition highlights the sacrifice and courage of a Norwegian airman who escaped Nazis to fight for freedom during the Second World War.
The exhibition to honour the sacrifice of World War II airmen – focusing on the experience of one young Norwegian whose plane was brought down over Hamburg opens this Easter and runs till 7 April.
Pictured is Norwegian artist Bodil Friele with a wing section section of a WW2 RAF bomber shot down over Norway and two of her paintings – of a crippled RAF Halifax bomber and a Spitfire.
With her is her partner, philanthropist and former business tycoon Trond Mohn, whose family fled to Scotland from Nazi occupied Norway, and who was born in Buckie, Moray, in 1943.
