When you buy a MacTours City Tour ticket you might get more than you bargained for! Along with the bus ticket you have the chance to try out some of the city’s best afternoon tea establishments.

Available until the 29 October, visitors can save up to 25% at five venues across the city, including Café Hub on Castlehill, The Royal Exchange Coffee House at The Real Mary King’s Close and new venue, The Printing Press.

Kenny Campbell, Tour Operations Manager at Edinburgh Bus Tours, said: “In recent years, Edinburgh has gained a reputation for offering some of the country’s best foodie experiences. We are always looking to give our visitors more reasons to hop-off our tours to enjoy the very best of Edinburgh before hopping back on and continuing their sightseeing.

“After purchasing a ticket at Waverley Bridge, the main tour departure point, visitors can simply sit back and enjoy the sights, before hopping off and refuelling at one of our partner venues.  I’m sure the discounts will prove popular but one question remains – will anyone get round all five venues in one day?”

MacTours tickets cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for children, with family tickets from £36 for two adults and up to three children. Hop on – hop off tickets are valid for 24 hours and visitors can see more for less with Grand and Royal tickets.

John Read and Gavin MacLennan of Old Town Chambers picking up their award

Old Town Chambers – Edinburgh’s collection of prestigious serviced apartments – has won the Best Interior Design award at the inaugural Serviced Apartment Awards.

The five-star apartments beat off stiff competition from competitors in both London and Australia to claim the top prize.

Held in London, the awards were created to recognise the serviced apartment, aparthotel, extended stay and short term rental industry, which according to a recent report, is on track to be the fastest-growing segment of the UK hospitality sector in the next two years.

Gavin MacLennan, general manager at Old Town Chambers, said: “We’re extremely proud to be bringing the Serviced Apartment Awards’ Best Interior Design award back to Edinburgh, as the competition was extremely tough.

“Our aim at the Old Town Chambers is to create a home from home, with an added touch of luxury, which blends the best of the old and the new.  It feels like this award is an endorsement of our approach, and with some exciting plans in the pipeline, we’ve got a big couple of years ahead of us.”

Located in the heart of the Edinburgh, just off the Royal Mile, Old Town Chambers comprises 50 apartments, ranging from one-bed studio apartments to a stunning three bed penthouse, which offers views across Edinburgh and over to Fife.
