The family of Matthew Elmer, 23 who was last seen in the Craigshill area of Livingston on Saturday, February 13 have made an emotional appeal for him to come home.

In an appeal at Livingston Police Station yesterday, Matthew’s parents said that their concerns were growing for his wellbeing.

His father, Ian, said: “We are hugely, hugely, concerned. As a family, time is standing still for us. This is just a living nightmare and we just want out son home.”

“We are humbled by the huge response this has generated in the community. We cannot thank people enough for their ongoing efforts. It’s brought us enormous comfort.”

Matthew’s mother Cathy said: “We just have to take things day by day. Matt, we’re devastated. We just want you home.”

Mr Elmer is white with blue eyes and dark brown hair, which is short at the sides and sometimes styled on top. He is 5ft 8in and has a slim build.

He was seen wearing a black jacket, black jogging trousers and white canvas laced-up trainers. He wears black studs in both ears and was wearing a grey woollen hat.

Anyone with information about Mr Elmer’s whereabouts is encouraged to call police on 101
