The council is proposing to set a budget for the next four years, but it needs your help and your ideas before it finalises the numbers.
Revenue spending is set to fall against a backdrop of council tax freezes. The political thinking is that following next year’s Holyrood election the freeze may be lifted, but until that time all spending must be set within a balanced (and much reduced) budget.
The council has launched its transformation programme to enable it to make better use of its staff. That has not gone unnoticed by the council staff or the unions who have protested against the job cuts of around 2,000.
You can have your say on the council budget plans here before 10 December 2015.
