Liam Fontaine is confident that Hibs can consolidate their second place in the Championship when they face Raith Rovers at Starks Park tomorrow. The big defender has happy memories of Kirkcaldy, having scored there last season and he is hoping to repeat that on Saturday, if he features.
Head Coach Alan Stubbs has tinkered with his formation recently and last week against Dumbarton Fontaine partnered Darren McGregor in the heart of the defence with Paul Hanlon rested, then on Tuesday night, it was his turn to miss out as he was replaced by Hanlon and only came on in the last five minutes.
Speaking to Hibs TV he said: “It was my first goal for Hibs and it’s good to go to places where you have scored before and it would be nice if I could get a goal again.
“They’ve been going well at home, but we’ve been going well this season so we are going there with confidence.
“If we go there and play our game, I’m confident that we will come away with the result.
“It’s great to have a good run of games so fast paced coming up so it’s good to go there and challenge ourselves again.
“We’ve done well in a lot of games so like I said we will go there full of confidence and if we play out game hopeful we will get the result we want.
“We knew what we were going to be up against at Falkirk and toward the end they started lobbing a lot of balls into the box and we stood up well as a team. I was able to get on the pitch near the end and help out with that.”
