Generous Hibs’ fans have raised over £25,000 since 2013,  buying over 300 “season tickets for children who would not normally be able to attend games.

Supporters have helped in many ways, from donating items to auction, signing up to monthly direct debits and encouraging the children who sit nearby them in the East Stand while telling them all about the proud history of the club.

Groups such as the Multicultural Family Base, Kinship Carers, Dean and Cauvin Trust, Street Soccer Scotland and the Pentland Community Centre receive tickets with many more worthy recipients.

Treasurer Susan Linn told the Edinburgh Reporter: ” I started the fund in 2013 to get more children along to Easter Road who wouldn’t normally be able to attend games.  Since then, generous Hibs fans have donated over £25,000 and 320 Kicks for Kids season tickets have been purchased in total.  This season alone, 152 were bought, up from 146 last season.

“Kicks for Kids is the Hibs scheme that offers season tickets at a reduced price and Leith Links buys them from the club.

“The fund really is in-keeping with the club’s original ethos and it is a pleasure to be involved.  I think most people can remember their first game at Easter Road and it is wonderful to see how much the support have embraced the next generation of Hibs’ fans.

“The money not only allows children to attend games but it also contributes to the Manager’s budget so, in my opinion it’s a win-win scenario.

“The attached picture is from one of the children who received a ticket.”
