HousebreakingPreventing housebreaking is one of our priorities in Edinburgh. Ch Supt Williams says “We want to prevent housebreakings, but when they do occur we want to arrest those responsible as quickly as possible”.Nobody has the right to break in to your house, but you can help prevent this by taking some simple steps to secure your home. The black-tie Ingliston Revival dinner took place at the Royal Highland Centre on Friday night.
The event, organised by Sandy Bloomer, took place on the 11-13 of September where a mix of both classic and modern cars took to the reinstated track in a weekend for the entire family.
The Friday night started in dramatic fashion as you will see from the photos, with Ben Collins, formerly known as The Stig, took to the skies before arriving at the black-tie dinner by helicopter.
Lee McKenziem BBC’s Formula One pitlane reporter was also on hand to introduce speeches through the evening. These including an opening speech from Event Director Sandy Bloomer and Doug Niven, the cousin of the late Jim Clark, world-famous racer.

In two weeks’ time it will be time for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and as part of this, M&S stores across Edinburgh including Gyle, Princes Street, Kinnaird, Ocean Terminal and Craigleith, are hosting an extra special coffee morning in celebration of the event’s 25th anniversary.
Stores are inviting shoppers and the local community to join them on Friday 25th September when lots of activities will be taking place. M&S Gyle, for example, will be celebrating the day with a Grease theme and live trumpet music will entertain shoppers in the hope of raising more funds than ever before.
This is the sixth year that M&S has supported World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and during this time the retailer has raised over £4 million for Macmillan. M&S and Macmillan are working together to fund more specialist Macmillan services in local communities across the UK. This is particularly vital, as the demand for Macmillan services is increasing; 8,380 people in the South and East of Scotland alone are diagnosed with cancer every year.
