Scotland boss Anna Signeul was present at Ainslie Park yesterday to see Hibernian Ladies beat city rivals Spartans 3-0 thanks to a hat trick from Lizzie Arnot.
Afterwards manager Chris Roberts told the club website: “I’m delighted for Lizzie because she is such an unselfish player.
“It’s great to see her scoring a hat-trick, getting that reward and taking her spot in the limelight because she is normally creating opportunities for her team-mates.
“Spartans played behind the ball and tried to congest the play which made for a stop-start game that could easily have frustrated us.
“However, the girls were thoroughly professional and deserve all the credit for such a mature performance given the age of the team.”
