Hibs’ Head Coach Alan Stubbs was delighted with the partnership of James Keatings and Jason Cummings (pictured) who both scored in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Raith Rovers at Easter Road.

Speaking immediately after the game Stubbs said: “On another day it could have been a couple more but it’s great to see your strikers get on the score sheet

“James (Keatings) is confident anyway, not as confident as Jason (Cummings) but he is a natural goal scorer. he’s got one thing on his mind as soon as he has his first touch, he’s looking to get a shot or hit the target as soon as possible. He does exactly that in training. He reacts very quick making it difficult for defenders to stop things.

“I though today alongside Jason, I thought they showed glimpses of potential.”

Stubbs also said that he realised the importance of the game as Hibs look to get back to winning ways after a poor start to their Championship campaign, losing two of their first three matches and he was happy with his players’ response.

He continued: “I watched Raith Rovers during the week and they can certainly cause teams problems There is a physicality to them. They have a few big lads and they have got a few decent players as well.

“I knew today was a big game for us, not because of our result at Ibrox last week, I just thought it was a big game in general.

“I thought we responded really well. I thought the lads looked sharp  and there was a real brightness about them early on and I though we started the game well.
