Hibernian Ladies beat city rivals Spartans 3-0 at the weekend.

Hibs boss Chris Roberts left out Abbi Harrison as a precaution following a head knock picked up in her last outing against Glasgow City and that meant a recall for Clare Williamson to the starting XI.

Heather Richards scored the opening goal then Lizzie Arnot added a second before a late own goal by Katie Reilly concluded the scoring.

After the game manager Chris Roberts told the club website@  “I’m absolutely delighted with the girls’ response to Wednesday’s disappointment.

“It was great to see that resilience after a mentally and physically draining 120 minutes in midweek. The girls dug deep, performed well and showed the sort of form needed to win championships.

“They were a class above, although I was impressed with Spartans who played well, passed the ball and were always a threat trying to get in behind.

“We started well, dominated the opening exchanges, got our noses in front and then picked Spartans off.

“Jenna [Fife], Joelle [Murray] and Shiv[Siobhan Hunter] set the stall with a terrific display at the back and we were worthy winners.

“I thought the girls managed the game well, they pressed at the right times, sat in at the right times and showed maturity in their performance.”
