Scott Allan was named Hibernian Supporters Association’s Player of the Year at the awards ceremony at Sunnyside last night.
The 23-year-old midfielder signed from West Bromwich Albion during the close season and made hs debut against Rangers at Ibrox.
He has started 34 games so far this season and appeared five times from the bench, scoring twice.
Allan started his career at Tannadice but after a few games, Roy Hodgson, the current England manager spotted his potential and took him to the Hawthorns.
A change of manager however meant that Scott’s chances were limited and he spells on loan at Portsmouth, Milton Keynes Dons and Birmingham City.
His performances in the green jersey this season have brought him deserved plaudits from the Hibs’ fans and last night’s award came as no surprise.
Striker and the Championship’s leading marksman Jason Cummings was named Young Player of the Year.
Cummings started his career with city rivals Hearts, but was released after sustaining an injury.
After a season with Hutchison Vale however he was snapped up by Hibs and his goal scoring record with the Under 20s quickly ensured promotion to the first team.
This season he has scored 19 times including two against Hearts and three against Rangers.
