‘Goal Machine’ David Gray has added a new skill to his cv this season by scoring twice for Hibs, a contrast to his previous 110 plus starts in England during spells with Manchester United, Plymouth Argyle (loan), Preston, Stevenage and Burton, where he never found the net.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Gray said: “I had played quite a few games down south and never scored, so to come up here and finally get the goals has been good.

“I’m enjoying the role I’m playing; I’ve got the licence to get forward. The system we’re playing at the moment is good and it enables me to push forward.

“I’ve always seen myself as an attack-minded full-back, but I’ve never previously got the goals on the end of it to back it up.

“This season I’m hoping I can add to my tally and put it on my cv to say I’m an attacking threat.”

Gray says he is delighted with the rapport he has built up with the Hibs’ fans who have taken him to heart due to his committed performances.

He added: “It’s nice to see and to hear – I think that comes from the team doing well.

“It’s such a big bonus when we’re doing the right things and the fans can appreciate it.

“We’re trying to do the right things – pass the ball – and we’re getting there now.

“We’ve been undefeated for a number of games, the fans can appreciate that and it’s good to be a part of it.”
