In response to supporters consultation Hibs have confirmed today that they will be trialling a scheme to allow supporters who may wish to smoke at half-time the ability to exit and re-enter the stadium in a controlled manner that meets the safety requirements we are required to operate within on a matchday.
At the last match against Raith Rovers, tests were carried out in the East Stand that allowing cards/tickets to be reactivated via a handheld scanner – at half-time the a Supporter can then leave the stadium by a designated exit gate, smoke their cigarette, E-cig, etc., externally and when finished re-enter the stadium scanning their card/ticket at a designated turnstile in the same way they did when entering before the match.
At Half-time Stewards with scanners will be located at Exits Gates “E5” and “E10” in the East Stand Concourse and access back into the stadium will be via Turnstiles “37” and “48” respectively.

This operation can only be done during the 15 minutes at half-time, and fans’ co-operation in making this trial work and ultimately improving the matchday experience for all supporters would be greatly appreciated.
