Colin Sell, best known for his musical input to ”I’m Sorry I haven’t a Clue”, forsakes his piano to turn film buff in a special event for Scottish HIV and Hepatitis C charity, Waverley Care, at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse cinema on Thursday 7 August 2014.

In the first Scottish performance of his one man show ”Laughter in the One-and-Nines”, Colin will take the audience on a personal tour of favourite scenes and actors going back from the 1960s to the very beginning of the British funnies.

Revisiting Ealing, the ‘Carry Ons’, Alastair Sim, Peter Sellers, Margaret Rutherford and so forth, alongside the likes of Sam Kydd, Liz Fraser, Michael Ward and Blair the Wonderdog, Laughter in the One-and-Nines is a rich and very funny mix, appealing as much now as then to anyone with a funny bone, a bag of popcorn and a comfy seat.

Colin Sell said: “Apart from the big stars, it’s the lesser comedy players who fascinate me too – many of them cropping up in film after film, and always giving good value. I’ll be introducing some and we’ll see if we can remember their names! And it’s a pleasure to offer the show to Waverley Care. See you all there to laugh, titter and wander down Memory Lane in the upper circle – and give money to an excellent cause at the same time.”

Karen Docwra, Fundraising Manager with Waverley Care said: “We are immensely grateful to Colin for being willing to come and share his favourite movie moments with Edinburgh audiences. Being able to laugh is such a life affirming feeling and we’re delighted that we’re able to combine an evening of comedy with raising money for a great cause.”

Laughter in the One-and-Nines takes place at 8 pm on Thursday 7th August 2014. Tickets (£10) are now on sale via the Filmhouse Box Office http://www.filmhousecinema.com or phone 0131 228 2688.
