Edinburgh Festival Fringe – JIMEÓIN – Is It?

Hilarious world-class stand-up from one of live comedy’s internationally acclaimed masters

Fresh from his smash-hit tour across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland last year, including his sensational solo arena debut at Belfast’s Odyssey, Jimeóin (pronounced Jim-Owen) returns to the Edinburgh fringe for a full run at the International Conference Centre with his ever-evolving live show – Is It…?!

This summer Jimeóin is hosting Australian TV SBS’s primetime comedy programme ‘The Full Brazilian’, teaming up with the network’s live coverage of 2014’s World Cup games. The 25 live-to-air, hour-long shows, will be a heady mix of Jimeóin’s stand-up, sketches, chat, football talk via satellite link to Rio, musical acts and guest comedians.
Kick off is Friday June 13th.

Jimeóin’s live shows are a fluid mixture of his signature razor-sharp observations, with hawk-eye dissection of the absurdities of everyday life and how we live it. He’s been all over the TV in shows including several Live at the Apollo’s, The Royal Variety Performance, Channel 4’s O2 Comedy Gala, Edinburgh Comedy Fest LIVE, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Monumental and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. But his natural environment is the live stage – no-gimmicks, big laughs and stand-up comedy at it’s very best.

Having left his Northern Irish home in Portstewart in the 1990’s, Jimeóin settled in Australia where he accidentally fell into his comedy career after a friend dared him to get up at an open mic night,fast becoming such a household name there he’s even had racehorses named after him. His disarmingly relaxed, cheeky often surreal humour has led to sell-out tours to record-breaking audiences across the length & breadth of Australia, UK and Ireland. He is a father of 4, a keen fisherman, skateboarder and golfer and has released several top-selling CD’S and DVD’s.
