Terry Butcher will find out whether his appeal against a two match ban and £1000 fine imposed whilst manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle is successful when he appears before an SFA appeals tribunal at Hampden today.
The Hibs boss has already admitted breaching SFA rule 203 of “misconduct at a match by failing to behave in a responsible manner as an occupant of the technical area by acting in an aggressive manner towards players of the opposing team” at a disciplinary tribunal on 21 November.
The appeal allowed him to take charge of the team against St Mirren in Paisley in a game which ended in a no scoring draw.
Butcher was sent to the stand with Dundee United coach Darren Jackson who has since been issued with a censure for misconduct, following an incident during a league cup quarter-final on 29 October.
A decision on the appeal is expected today, but if thrown out, Butcher will be banned from the dressing rooms, tunnel, pitch and match officials’ dressing rooms from an hour before kick-off until 15 minutes after the full-time whistle for Saturday’s game against St Johnstone at Easter Road.
