Police in Edinburgh have arrested and charged four people in connection with a string of thefts and break-ins in the south and east of the Capital.
A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) in connection with two break-ins to properties in Lee Crescent and Park Avenue, on April 4th and September 13th this year.
As a result of further inquiries, he has been linked to a total of 15 separate alleged thefts and break-ins that have all happened in the Portobello area over the past two years, and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on November 28th.
In addition to this arrest, officers have also arrested and charged three youths, aged 16, 17 and 17, in connection with a number of similar incidents in the south and east of the city.
The trio were arrested yesterday after they were seen attempting to break in to a garage in John Street Lane West in Portobello. Further inquiry linked them to 15 alleged crimes in the south and east of the city, and they were all expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
