Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a 30 year old man on Nicolson Street in the early hours of Sunday morning 29 September 2013.

The incident took place at the Surgeon’s Hall bus stop around 02.30am when the victim was waiting for nightbus N3.

The victim sustained serious injuries after being punched by the suspect, and was found on the road by a number of witnesses.

The suspect is described as white, large build, 6ft 3in in height, short light brown hair and wearing a checked shirt. He was accompanied by a woman.

Detective Constable Steven McFadyen from Police Scotland said: -“This assault happened in the city centre at a time when there would have been many people on the street. Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this assault, or who recognises the description of the suspect.”
