TER Racing at Musselburgh (1)

It’s not quite the Pearly Gates but Musselburgh Racecourse will offer free entry through the turnstiles at its Saints and Sinners Raceday on Friday, 8 November 2013.

The East Lothian course has announced the National Hunt meeting will be a free day for racegoers in an initiative supported by the course’s bookmakers. Long established charity Saints and Sinners Club of Scotland is sponsoring the race day on behalf of Victim Support Scotland and funds raised will be donated to VSS.

Musselburgh hopes the offer of free entry will attract first time racegoers and encourage past visitors to return to the course.

Commercial manager, Mary-Ann Sandercock, said: “With the generous support of our bookmakers we are offering free entry and hope to raise the profile of horseracing and particularly what we are doing at Musselburgh. “It’s a great opportunity for first time racegoers to come and see what our thrilling sport has to offer.

“We are also delighted to welcome back to Musselburgh the Saints and Sinners charity and a good attendance will boost their fund raising efforts on behalf of Victim Support Scotland.” The free tickets must be booked in advance online.
