Adventurous teams from Edinburgh-based companies Pagan Osborne, RBS and Simpson & Marwick are gearing up to tackle a 12 hour multi activity challenge in the Scottish Borders at the end of this month to raise money for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). The teams will take part in a new challenge event for Scotland and the Scottish Borders, organised by CHAS on 31 August 2013.

The teams aim to complete a 40 mile cycle followed by a 18 mile walk/jog to complete the gold route, with additional adventure challenges along the way. An additional team from Pagan Osborne will tackle a 10 mile walk.

Jon Heggie, CHAS Outdoor Events Manager, said: “It’s great to see so many teams and individuals signing up for this challenge and supporting CHAS in its inaugural Beat the Borders event. We hope it will become a firm favourite in the charity events calendar, raising funds for Scotland’s only children’s hospice service, to provide vital support for families in Edinburgh whose children have a life-shortening condition.”

Sue Calder, partner at legal, financial and property company Pagan Osborne said: -“The teams from Edinburgh and our offices in Fife are well into their training programmes now and are really looking forward to the challenge. We’ve been working hard on our fundraising and are hopeful we’ll be able to offer a real boost to CHAS’s great work for children across Scotland. We wish all participating teams the best of luck and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at the finish line.”

Closing date for entries to the Beat the Borders event is Friday 16 August and more details of the event, including the registration form, can be found at www.beattheborders.co.uk
