Seven Ages (featuring Kevin Tomlinson) Heart-warming comedy theatre, about the seven stages of life!
Essentially a comedy – with touching moments in it – Seven Ages explores the idea that we go through seven stages in life. From infancy – through love and wisdom – to growing old disgracefully. The whole of life, in an hour!
Fresh from a sell-out world tour to Canada, America, New Zealand, Norway, Seven Ages has been seen at over 200 venues across the UK. Garnering 5 star reviews on its recent world tour, Seven Ages transferred to London, where it received standing ovations on its opening and closing nights. Kepow are now bring Seven Ages to the 2013 Edinburgh Festival.
This 3 week run in Edinburgh will feature KEPOW!’s 300th performance of Seven Ages.
Created and starring Kevin Tomlinson (winner of the Sunday Times Playwright Award) and Abi Hood (ITV’s The Bill), Seven Ages has been praised for its wonderful combination of comedy, drama and pathos, as it explores two of the most important questions one can ever ask oneself: Why am I here? and What’s important in my life? A truly unique show, that makes one re-assess one’s priorities in life, whilst simultaneously making you laugh. Suitable for 6-106 year olds. But not 107 year olds.
Featuring half masks, improvisation and storytelling, the two performers take true stories from their own lives – and suggestions from the audience – and then weave them into amusing or touching stories. The best way to describe the show is Shakespeare meets Whose Line Is It Anyway? with a touching ending.
KEPOW! are now recognised as one of the UK’s leading touring theatre companies and their founder – Kevin Tomlinson – is one of the UK’s top improvisers. His career took off in 1999, when he performed alongside the cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Hollywood actor Jonathan Pryce at the famous Hackney Empire, in a Charity Comedy Show. Since then his improvisation shows have toured all over the world. Most recently, Hong Kong, where 300 tickets were sold, within 48 hours of the show going on sale.
